Mazda MX5 NA 1.8

Francisco Luis has been a car enthusiast since he was a child. He has more interest in cars through games like Gran Turismo, Needs For Speed, and car simulators like LFS, Asseto Corsa, etc. Luis is very into Mazda MX5. As he started to go to circuits, meet people, and look into race cars, he knew that this was a great stress relief hobby, a bit expensive but really comfortable, just driving cars, racing them, or building them.

Luis has an MX5 NA 1.8.

He modified the car himself. “I think nobody can put the same effort as you can do it on your own car, learning from everything you modify is so satisfying.”

What does this Mazda MX-5 mean to Luis?

“I’m a lucky guy who has the luck to try a lot of cars, FWD, RWD, AWD cars. All I can say is that Mazda MX-5 is a really good car, ” words are powerless to express Luis’s like, “It´s not the safest car, modern car, epic engine car, but it handles well; it´s not perfect for racing or drift, but they do a really good job on it. You can do great fast laps on every track, and try drift if you want. A great cheap sports car! It has a nice shift feel, direct and quick steering, low driving position.”

As Luis said, the MX5 is a really good car, but the only problem is not enough power. It’s an outstanding base to modify as there’s a lot of stuff on the internet for this car, you can leave it as a classic car, racer, drift, etc.

Luis’s option was to modify it to get it ready for the track and the street, everything new and improved, chassis rigidity, and of course, power. Luis decided to go for a high horsepower build using MaXpeedingRods connecting rods, starting from 130hp and going for 400hp.

“It´s a new brand that starts to sell connecting rods for a really good price, so I gave it an opportunity where I get really surprised,” Luis said the reasons for him to choose MaXpeedingRods.

Luis balanced the weight of connecting rods when he received the connecting rods, “Actually, I found that the connecting rods are very well machined and balanced with a little difference of 0.3gr which is very acceptable for high horsepower builds. That’s a really good number, even for its price!”

When it comes to car modification, you have to know that the expensive parts are not always the best. MaXpeedingRods connecting rods are a must-have in this situation, as they are of outstanding quality and come at a great price.

“The connecting rods can handle very well my high horsepower build without problems, I recommend them to most people as they can save money over other brands and they perform with the same quality or even better!” Luis thinks MaXpeedingRods is in a good way, “They are a new company that is raising its quality maintaining good prices.”
