I recently acquired a set of the MaXpeedingRods coilovers for my RHD 93 Civic Hatch. I’ve been building this car for the last 2 years. I’m really close to finishing it. I just need to figure out some wiring issues.

The MaXpeedingRods Coilover suspension kit features a twin-tube damper that is adjustable to make your ride softer or stiffer. Depending on your needs, street, track, or road racing, it also features ride height adjustability with locking collars. By adjusting the upper collars, you can preload the springs for track use. The coilover housings themselves have beefy welds. These coilovers are an affordable option for your vehicle.

Fitment: The coilovers are compatible for Honda Civic EK2, EK3, EK4, EK5, EK9, EJ6, EJ7, EJ8, EJ9, EM1 1996-2000.

High-quality Spring:

  • Front: 8kg /mm (448lbs/in)
  • Rear: 5kg/mm(280lbs/in)
  • The spring distortion is less than 0.04% under 600,000 times continuously tests.

Adjustable Performance:

  • Adjustable ride height (lowering 0-60mm)
  • Adjustable pre-load spring tension
  • 24-way Adjustable Damper

Increased Hardness: Most components of the suspension parts are made from 6061 aluminum with T6 for increased strength and rigidity.

Contents included in the kit:

  • 2-pcs front coilover shock absorbers
  • 2-pcs rear coilover shock absorbers
  • 2-pcs stainless steel wrenches

Installation Steps

Step 1

Start by jacking up the car front or rear of the car, depending on which end you would like to install first. Make sure to use jack stands to secure the car in the lifted position. Remove the front or rear wheels.

Step 2

Remove the lower bolts on the forks and slide the fork off the stock shock. Make sure to remove the bolt attaching the brake line to the shock housing. Remove the top nuts on the shock tower and remove the stock strut assembly.

Step 3

Adjust the ride height by turning the lower portion of the MaXpeedingRods strut to your desired ride height and use the supplied wrenches to lock the lower portion in place. Depending on your make and model of vehicle, the supplied spacers that are inserted into the lower fork may have to be used to secure the MaXpeedingRods coilover onto the fork.

Step 4

Install the front coilover top nuts and lower bolts in reverse as the stock strut was removed. To remove the rear strut, remove the lower bolt holding the strut onto the lower control arm. (keep in mind that you may need a nut to install the MaXpeedingRods rear coilover)

After the bolts are installed and tightened to factory specs, replace the wheels and lower the car slowly. Make sure everything is clear and nothing is obstructing the suspension travel.
